Research Associate (Economics/Development Studies)

Position: Research Associate (Economics/Development Studies)
Location: New Delhi

Role

The Research Associate will be responsible for overseeing research projects, conducting research, analysing data, and assisting the Project Head.

Major Responsibilities:

  • To lead and oversee research projects related to economic and development studies 
  • To assist the Project Head
  • To guide researchers in the project.
  • Ensures outreach and partnership with the  academic community of economic/development studies including university and institutions
  • Provides appropriate support to researchers in writing, editing, and publishing research results 
  • Leads and develops internal and external research and policy networks 
  • Edit articles, reports and research papers for the website
  • Write reports and research-based articles to a high academic standard
  • To assist the outreach, communications and implementation of CSPS activities  
  • Contributes in event organization, including meetings, conferences and seminars (and webinars), invites experts as speakers and discussants for special event series and other events
  • Contribute to policy brief preparation

Qualifications & Skills

  • MPhil or PhD (desirable) in Economics/Development Studies
  • Strong research skills, including experience with econometric software such as STATA, R, SPSS etc
  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
  • Familiarity with economic theories, data analysis, and research methods
  • Knowledge of development issues and policies, including poverty reduction, inequality, and sustainability
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with experience in publishing research articles and reports
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Experience working in a research or academic environment
  • Excellent writing and speaking communication; fluency in another Indian language is desirable

The Research Coordinator will provide intellectual leadership to the overall program, including its monitoring and evaluation activities, outreach, and communications and oversee the implementation of CSPS activities

Major Responsibilities:

Digital Communication Executive

Position: Digital Communication Executive
Location: New Delhi

Assignment type: Full-time

Role

The Digital Communication Executive will provide thought leadership on the digital platform with creative storytelling.

Major Responsibilities:

  • To bring thought leadership to the organisation on social media; development of content, including videos, photos, and copy
  • Create, edit, publish, and optimise digital content using Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other social platforms
  • Manage CSPS’s key digital communication channels – website, social media and newsletters, ensuring messages reach intended audiences and engagement grows across digital platforms
  • Maintain a content calendar to ensure a steady stream of messaging that promotes CSPS’s research while also being responsive to current affairs
  • Conceptualise, design and edit content for social media posts, newsletters, website articles and annual reports
  • Edit short- and long-form videos for social media accounts
  • Take charge of video ideation and creation
  • Create basic infographics and text-based videos that package research findings in engaging ways

Qualifications & Skills

  • A creative storyteller and a digital maven who understands the power of digital media to bring about change and wants to dig deeper into the data to ensure we are reaching and engaging the right audiences
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, or equivalent field
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and trends
  • Proven skills in graphic design and video editing
  • Has a good understanding of MS Office Suite, CMS tools, After Effects, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop & Adobe Illustrator
  • Understanding of website management through WordPress or other content management systems, Mailchimp newsletter distribution and management, and Google Analytics for performance evaluation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
